Attendance is CRUCIAL at YDHS!

We feel we are preparing our students for the real/working world. Since we are an accelerated program, attendance is critical here at YDHS. If a student missed more than 10 days in any one class, they are removed from that class and cannot get credit. We cannot give credit when credit is not earned.

Connect! Afterschool Activities

Yaaḵoosgé Daakahídi High School's 21st Century Community Learning Center (Connect!) is an afterschool program that expands learning opportunities outside of the regular school hours. Our goal is to increase academic success in literacy, math, and science by providing hands-on, interactive lessons taught by certified teachers and qualified activity leaders and to provide time for homework and skill practice. Students may earn 0.25 elective credits for every 25 hours of participation in afterschool activities. We will communicate opportunities with students and parents/guardians regarding family events, classes and workshops.

Connect! is free, snacks are provided, and bus fare is available for transportation home.

Students must complete enrollment forms and turn them into Alicia in the Commons in order to participate in after school activities.

Time to update your child’s immunizations?

Spring Break - March 18-22 - is a great time to check with your provider about your children's immunization status and update them as needed.
The Alaska Department of Health issued a warning about measles on March 3, 2024.  Measles alert
Recent measles outbreaks in Florida and other states are a reminder that the measles virus is still circulating, and is very contagious.  Measles can be dangerous, especially for babies and young children, and is preventable.
